When will my server be ready?
The server setup and installation process is automated. As soon as the payment is made, the system will choose the best server box for you and you can start using the server almost immediately.
How much RAM do I need?
Over the years Minecraft usage requirements have increased. Some older versions of minecraft can still use 1GB of RAM (vanilla, no modpacks or plugins) however newer versions of minecraft require at least 1.5GB. RAM usage requirements will increase if you install modpacks or plugins. It is difficult to provide exact recommendations as it may depend on number of factors such as type of mods of mods of plugins, number of players, and overall world usage. Typically an average modpack needs between 4GB to 5GB of RAM. There are also smaller modpacks which can run between 2GB to 3GB of RAM
How will I know when I need more RAM?
The control panel tells you the amount of RAM the minecraft java instance is using. However sometimes Java will appear to consume extra RAM when it sees it available to gain best performance possible. This does not necessarily mean you are running out of RAM but if your server is not performing well or is crashing with "Java Heap" error this would mean you are running low in RAM. You can upgrade from the billing section and also contact our support to confirm that RAM is the issue.
How is the server hosted? (eg VPS or Dedicated Server?)
Your minecraft server is hosted on a shared Dedicated Server within a well monitored and contained environment - These servers are fully tweaked providing solid performance and stability 24hrs / 7days. We don't use VPS as they hinder performance and direct access to server hardware.
What comes with my server preinstalled?
Your sever is preinstalled with the latest version of Minecraft Vanilla. You can then change the version or install any modpacks from the Installer and Modpacks section of the control panel. You can install as many versions or modpacks as you like with no storage limits.
How can I cancel my server?
If you have an existing subscription payment plan, you can cancel this from the Billing section of the control panel. This will stop automated payments and your server will cancel once the current duration is over.
Can I upload my own Minecraft server jar file?
Yes! You have full FTP access to the server allowing you to install your own minecraft server files.
