Minecraft / How do I Ban / Unban players?
« on: 15 October 2024, 21:21:00 »
Minecraft has 2 ways to prevent unwanted players from joining the server. (This applies to both Java and Bedrock editions)

You can either use the whitelist feature which locks the server and prevents all players from joining except those who are on the whitelist. (Recommended for private servers such as family and friends)
Or
You can leave whitelist off which will allow anyone to join unless they are on the ban list.

To add/remove players from the Ban list, you can by either:
a) Using the "Ops and Whitelist" section of the server control panel settings and going into the "Banned" tab.
or
b) Using the "Console" section and typing the command:
Ban: ban <playername> [reason]
Unban: pardon <playername>

You should note that if your server.properties setting has online-mode set to false, both the whitelist and ban features are deemed unfunctional.

Minecraft / How to Increase RAM on Minecraft Client (Not server)
« on: 15 November 2022, 21:12:41 »
If your PC (or any connecting client PC) are using a large modpack and you have issues with connecting (such as timeout or slow frame rates) you may need to set a higher RAM value of the modpack's java instance. This is a client side RAM and does not affect the server.

This can be achieved from Minecraft Launcher before clicking "Play" to start the game.

Step 1) Go to the Installations Tab and edit the modpack settings as per image below

Step 2 )Choose More Options

Step 3) Look for -xmx and note the numbers after it. If it says 4096m then it means its set to 4GB RAM startup, which is default setting and this may be too low for large modpacks. Try increasing this number to 5000m for 5GB or 6000m for 6GB or higher (This depends on how much RAM you have on your PC, see notes below)

Step 4) You can now save it and launch the modpack

NOTES:
Before increasing the RAM settings for your modpack, you need to make sure that you PC has sufficient free RAM

Your Task Manager can show you how much RAM remaining you have, like in this case below, there is 31.9GB total RAM and only 47% is used so far. This means it is possible to start the modpack with 16GB of RAM but its a good idea to have a bit extra for the OS and other programs, so 14GB would be the maximum.

Minecraft / Re: Proximity Chat(Simple Voice Chat)
« on: 01 April 2021, 08:31:17 »
Sorry for the delay, yes it is possible to open custom ports. Just contact us from Support section and we will get it set up for you.

Looks like this mod will work, though you do need Forge and this mod installed on both client and server, so every player joining will need to set this up before they join.

23
There is a forked version available for 1.15+
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/worldborder-1-15.80466/

Thanks for that! Don't know how we missed that.

Server Support / Re: 1.17
« on: 30 March 2021, 01:56:20 »
yes we support 1.17 snapshots. Though as there are so many changes in upcoming release of 1.17, it is recommend that you start a new world to take advantage of the caves update. But your existing older worlds should work too.

Server Support / Re: Cheats
« on: 30 March 2021, 01:54:40 »
For minecraft, to enable cheats, you need to give yourself ops (admin) permission.

To do this, see: How do I add/remove Ops (Admins?)

Minecraft / Dynmap/BlueMap port and domains
« on: 25 March 2021, 18:39:59 »
Do you support Dynmap/BlueMap?

Yes! We support both. You can install it from Bukkit Plugins section or upload the jar.

What is my Dynmap/BlueMap port?

Dynmap/BlueMap port is automatically assigned for your server when you install the plugin and start your server.
You will see the port in Express Settings --> Server Address section of the control panel.

The control panel will automatically edit the configs for you, so just restart server and go!

Custom Domains for Dynmap:

We now support custom domains on Dynmap so you don't have to type the IP address and Port.  You can choose our domain and set any subdomain you like or use your own registered domain.

We are currently building an automated feature in the control panel so you can set it easily like you can already for the server address.

For now, just contact us via support and let us know what domain you would like set.

Here is how you can enable coordinates in a Bedrock Server:

You can either go to the CONSOLE section of the control panel and type:

Code: [Select]
gamerule showcoordinates true

Or if you have Ops, you can type the command in-game

Code: [Select]
/gamerule showcoordinates true

What about your Java Editions?:

In Java Edition, pressing F3(or Fn+F3 on Macs and some laptops or Alt+Fn+F3 on newer Macs) brings up a debug screen which also gives the player's current coordinates.
