Hytale Update 3 is now released!

To update your server just head on over to the Settings--> Installer and Modpacks section and click on INSTALL for Hytale Vanilla v2026.02.17-255364b8e

Its that time again! Hytale update 2 is now released.

This is a compulsory update - customers will need to update their servers for this release in order to continue playing.

Updates to the server can be done from the Installer and Modpacks section of the control panel. We do not auto update the servers as this can introduce corruption from mods and plugins which may need to be updated first.

Here is a quick summary of the update:

Hytale Update 2 focuses on a mix of improvements, balancing, and major backend/server upgrades. It adds new cosmetics and character customization options (including armour visibility toggles and improved animations), introduces several gameplay tweaks like adjusted mining/tool progression, creature balance changes, and new crafting options, and delivers a solid set of farming improvements (better soil/crop behaviour, seed returns, and offhand torch support). On the world side, it expands WorldGen V2 support with new flat/void templates and updates ore generation so new chunks contain refreshed ore layouts. UI and accessibility also get attention with clearer tooltips, inventory shortcuts, an optional FPS counter, map/compass readability upgrades, and an "Ophidiophobia mode" that replaces snakes. The server side has a big push toward stability plus large list of fixes and refinements across gameplay, audio/visuals, and general performance.

Minecraft 1.21.6 - Chase the Skies Update is Live!

Great news! Minecraft 1.21.6 is now released and is automatically included on a new server install via the STIPE Control panel. You can also install it any time you like from the Installer and Modpacks section.

The Minecraft 1.21.6 update is officially here, bringing fresh gameplay mechanics, improved visuals, and a few long-requested features. Here is a quick breakdown of what to expect:

Ride the Happy Ghast
This update introduces a unique new mob: the Happy Ghast.
  • Found by crafting a Dried Ghast in the Nether.
  • Rehydrate it in the Overworld to get a Ghastling, which eventually grows into a Happy Ghast.
  • Equip it with a harness and it becomes rideable, able to carry up to four players!

Locator Bar - Multiplayer Navigation
A new Locator Bar replaces the XP bar when not gaining XP.
  • Helps point out the direction of nearby players.
  • Great for coordination in multiplayer worlds.
  • Server admins can enable or disable it as needed.

New Music and Soundtracks
New background tracks composed by Amos Roddy.
Includes a new music disc called "Tears".
Enhances the ambiance across several biomes and menus.

Crafting and Gameplay Enhancements
  • Saddle Crafting: You can now craft saddles using 3 leather and 1 iron ingot.
  • Lead Update: Leads now only require string to craft. Plus, you can leash multiple mobs at once.
  • Harnesses: Equip your Happy Ghast with colorful harnesses that support multiple riders.

Bedrock Edition - Vibrant Visuals
Players on Bedrock Edition now have access to Vibrant Visuals.
This adds improved lighting, shadows, reflections, and fog effects.
This feature is exclusive to Bedrock for now.

We're excited to announce an upgrade to our backup system!

Effective today, we have implemented a new backup solution that significantly extends the retention period for expired or suspended customer servers. Previously, backups were stored for 1.5 months - but with this update, we're now keeping them for over 6 months!

Summary of what's changing:
  • Old retention: 1.5 months
  • New retention: 6 months
  • Effective from: Today
  • Applies to: Existing, expired and suspended customer servers

We’re always working to improve your experience and give you more peace of mind.

Please note we sill recommend customers to download their own backups from time to time. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our support team!

Minecraft / How to connect via Nintendo Switch

To join your custom Minecraft server on the Nintendo Switch, you'll need to adjust your DNS settings to access a proxy service like BedrockConnect. This method allows you to connect to servers beyond the default featured list in Minecraft Bedrock Edition (Sadly Microsoft/Mojang have not made this an easy process to join Custom servers)

Step 1: Change Your DNS Settings
  • Go to the System Settings from the Switch home screen.
  • Select Internet, then Internet Settings.
  • Choose your current Wi-Fi connection and select Change Settings.
  • Scroll to DNS Settings and change it to Manual.
  • Set the DNS values as follows:
        Primary DNS: 104.238.130.180
        Secondary DNS: 8.8.8.8

Step 2: Launch Minecraft and Access Custom Servers
  • Open Minecraft Bedrock Edition on your Nintendo Switch.
  • Go to the Play menu and navigate to the Servers tab.
  • Click on any featured server (like Mineplex or Lifeboat).
  • Instead of connecting directly, you should see an option to open a Server List. Select it.

Step 3: Add and Connect to Your Server
  • Choose Connect to a Server from the menu.
  • Enter your server’s IP address and port number.
  • (Optional) Give the server a name.
  • Select Submit to connect.

Note: If the server list does not appear right away, try restarting Minecraft or the console. DNS changes can take a few minutes to apply.

The Minecraft 1.21.5 update, titled 'Spring to Life', is officially released! This update brings exciting new content aimed at making the Overworld feel more dynamic and immersive. Here is a quick summary of what you can expect:


🌿 New Mobs and Plants

Six new mobs have been added, giving players more variety in their world encounters.

A wide selection of new plants helps bring more life and color to the Overworld.

Minecraft / How do I Ban / Unban players?

Minecraft has 2 ways to prevent unwanted players from joining the server. (This applies to both Java and Bedrock editions)

You can either use the whitelist feature which locks the server and prevents all players from joining except those who are on the whitelist. (Recommended for private servers such as family and friends)
Or
You can leave whitelist off which will allow anyone to join unless they are on the ban list.

To add/remove players from the Ban list, you can by either:
a) Using the "Ops and Whitelist" section of the server control panel settings and going into the "Banned" tab.
or
b) Using the "Console" section and typing the command:
Ban: ban <playername> [reason]
Unban: pardon <playername>

You should note that if your server.properties setting has online-mode set to false, both the whitelist and ban features are deemed unfunctional.

Minecraft 1.20.6 update released! Armored Paws drop! Travel to the Savanna and Badlands biomes and say hello to the endearing Armadillos. Find and befriend eight new Wolf variants and equip your canine companions with dyable armor made from Armadillo Scutes and go adventuring together!

On the technical side, the Armored Paws drop is also introducing a change to how Java Edition spawn chunks work. Making the spawn chunk radius a configurable game rule and decreasing the default value by 98% which will improve significant performance to players!

The first Pre-release for Minecraft 1.20: The Trails and Tales update has been released. (Note: Pre-releases are the final stages of snapshots before the final release)

We now have a confirmation of the final release by 7th June (8th of June for Australia)

Rest assured STIPE servers have been stress testing and tweaking the up coming release to ensure maximum performance, stability and fast transition from older versions.

Minecraft / How to Increase RAM on Minecraft Client (Not server)

If your PC (or any connecting client PC) are using a large modpack and you have issues with connecting (such as timeout or slow frame rates) you may need to set a higher RAM value of the modpack's java instance. This is a client side RAM and does not affect the server.

This can be achieved from Minecraft Launcher before clicking "Play" to start the game.

Step 1) Go to the Installations Tab and edit the modpack settings as per image below





Step 2 )Choose More Options






Step 3) Look for -xmx and note the numbers after it. If it says 4096m then it means its set to 4GB RAM startup, which is default setting and this may be too low for large modpacks. Try increasing this number to 5000m for 5GB or 6000m for 6GB or higher (This depends on how much RAM you have on your PC, see notes below)



 

Step 4) You can now save it and launch the modpack



NOTES:
Before increasing the RAM settings for your modpack, you need to make sure that you PC has sufficient free RAM

Your Task Manager can show you how much RAM remaining you have, like in this case below, there is 31.9GB total RAM and only 47% is used so far. This means it is possible to start the modpack with 16GB of RAM but its a good idea to have a bit extra for the OS and other programs, so 14GB would be the maximum.

Minecraft 1.19.2 update has been released.

This is a urgent fix for Minecraft 1.19.1

  • Fixed an issue causing players to get disconnected with secure chat
  • Fixed a crash in the social interactions screen

STIPE Customers should follow our update guide to Minecraft 1.19.2

Update is recommended for Minecraft Java editions.

EDIT 24/08/2022: Bedrock edition has been updated to 1.19.21 - your clients and server should be updated to this version.

Minecraft / Creating a Lobby and World with portals

Requires: WorldEdit, Multiverse-Core, Multiverse-portal, WorldGuard, VoidGen

Make sure you are an op, go to Ops and Whitelist section in the control panel and add your player character to Ops.

Lets create a void world for Lobby and import a schematic
Install all the plugins above to your server, including VoidGen:  https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/voidgen.25391/
Use Multiverse+VoidGen to create voidworld:

/mv create lobby NORMAL -g VoidGen -t FLAT
Create your own, or Download a pre-made lobby design (Eg: This one)
Import the lobby schematic: On STIPE Control Panel, go to File Manager and go to the folder: Plugins --> WorldEdit --> schematics
Drag and drop the downloaded schematic file
In Minecraft teleport to the lobby world

Creating Portals:
Open //wand, select portal area

Protect area from destruction using WorldGuard
Again, using //wand, select area you want to protect, eg portal area
Protect it with command:

/region define <area name>
Example:
/region define area1
/region define portalarea2
/region define bla

Set all protected areas from explosions:
Code: [Select]
/region flag __global__ tnt deny
/region flag __global__ creeper-explosion deny
/region flag __global__ other-explosion deny
