With the release of forge 1.7.10, you can now play on the latest version of minecraft while using mods!

PixelMon has released version 3.2.2 containing support for latest version of minecraft!  8)

Both Forge 1.7.10 and Pixelmon 3.2.2 have been added to our control panel ready to install with a click.

Just a quick update, we have added Minecraft snapshot 14w30c to the control panel for those eager to test out some of the upcoming Minecraft 1.8 features.

Please note: Please make a copy/backup of your world before you attempt to use it on the new snapshot as they can be very buggy.

Hello our fellow Minecrafters! As July comes to an end, we are getting closer to Minecraft 1.8 release .. whenever that will be >< That's right! Still no release date.

Also, congrats to one of our newer customer's (does not want to be named) who has managed to make his custom built Minecraft server the top 10 most popular server hosted on STIPE! Currently sitting at 180 players average all day! Nice work!  8)

All CSGO Servers come with Metamod, Sourcemod, and BFG Warmod pre-installed and ready to go.

We have spent considerable amount of time tweaking these servers to give you amazing performance and reliability as many of you may have heard.

For those that want to run Public servers, yes you will be shocked at how well the server will run your 32 player server.
HOWEVER, the customer support for running other plugins and us helping you configure beyond warmod .. like custom Gungame for example will be your responsibility.

When you purchase CSGO Servers from STIPE. You are paying for its blazing performance which our time goes into every day.
To keep prices low, customer assistance with plugin configuration is limited.

Minecraft is the one game that has it all - explore, create, expand. The lego-building block like game has grown with huge interest thanks to its simplicity yet endless possibilities. Your limits are only your imagination!

Minecraft Vanilla
The Minecraft which we call Minecraft Vanilla, is the original unmodified version by the makers, Mojang (Owned now by Microsoft). The game is designed to be very open with barely any rules. It lets a player or players do whatever they want with "trust" being only method of control. And this is great for many!

Since the game was so open with no boundaries, some wanted to start customising the game for their own needs. Like adding protection from being grief'ed or creating new rules & features to the game to make it more personalised and fun.

Customising the game was not easy. It required talented developers to reverse engineer of game core itself. Something like that needs a well organised programming team who are willing to spare plenty of their free time.

That did in fact happen! Multiple groups were formed who made variety of solutions to edit the game what we know as Bukkit and Forge.  In short, its a conversion/adapter for Minecraft that allows other programmers to easily and quickly create their own plugins/mods and share them for anyone to use.

Now, thanks to Bukkit and Forge, thousands of programmers have created these plugins/mods for others like you and me to use it in our own servers and best off all, ITS FREE!
There are so many community plugins and mods out there now that its broken a lot of records! This what makes Minecraft the biggest community backed game in the world. Mojang understands the value of this and allows the community to run their modifications with only minimal rules (See the Minecraft EULA)

So what are Plugins Vs Modifications?
Bukkit gives the ability to make and use PLUGINS as it expands over the original game.
Forge gives the ability to make and use  MODs as it allows to both expand and modify over the original game.

"We like to call it a plugin if its for Bukkit. And a Mod if its for Forge."

Bukkit Vs Forge? - What's better?
Simply put, it depends on compatibility vs flexibility.
Bukkit does not require your client PCs to have anything special installed. Meaning a vanilla client will work. So it's very Compatible but a little less Flexible in making the game more customised.

Forge on the other hand is more Flexible. It allows programmers to do more, like adding new type of blocks! BUT, its not so Compatible because in most cases both clients and servers will need to install the mods to correctly work.

Both are quite different in the end and its up to you to decide how you want to your server to be.
With Forge:
Will you force all your players to first install the same mods on their clients before they can join? It can be technical sometimes.
If they don't have the right version or right mod installed, they won't be able to join.

With Bukkit:
Is it OK to let go of certain features so everyone can join using the original minecraft installation?

What are MODPACKS?
Modpacks is a whole bunch of forge mods which somebody packed in a group and gave it a name. The pack contains interesting mods so you don't have to look for all the mods yourself. Like, Tekkit B-Team, or FTB Unleashed, or CrackPack.. etc... These are all modpacks.

However, even modpacks are constantly being updated, and when they are, clients and servers need to update by removing the old mods and adding the new one.. AHH SO MUCH WORK!

Never fear, along came MODPACK LAUNCHERS. You may have heard of them: AtLauncher, Tekkit Launcher, Feed The Beast Launcher.
These are communities who have created a software which keeps your minecraft client synced with the correct mods of the modpack.

You must note: All modifications to Minecraft are done so by third parties. Mojang comments that they won't be responsible for any damage it may cause and care should be taken when using them.

This means you CAN use them but its not officially supported by Mojang. Launchers and Mods are made by other people - can you trust them?

Bringing back an old topic.

SSD's are becoming more affordable then ever. A Desktop PC or Laptop shouldn't be without!

When it comes to durability, I can advise that it is more durable than a carrot! (Literally....)

No really, I had an SSD in a shopping bag with groceries containing carrots for a new cake we were going to bake.
Completely forgot my new SSD drive was in that bag. Feeling lazy, I chucked the bag out of our balcony (2 stories high)
The person at the bottom missed.. crashed on concrete.

The carrots did not survive.

However to my surprise the SSD was 100% functional!!!

Now I use SSD's everywhere. If somebody talks about SSDs... I just tell them they are more durable than carrots. Though for some reason they always give me a strange look ..   ???

We add Yogast on request as many customers want different types of optional mods with it.

However good idea anyway! We will add the "default" optional mods at the very least!

We've added so many minecraft modpacks and updates in the past week that we've lost count!

From our memory, some included the following:
Voidworth's Crazy Craft 2.0 added
Feedthebeast Agrarian Skies updated to 3.1.1
Multiple other Feedthebeast packs were updated to their latest versions.
Multiple Atlaucher mods also added/updated.

More video tutorials on the way!

Hi KeirSkunky,

Sorry for the delay - we didn't notice your post on the forums. You should put in a support ticket for questions like this as you will get a response in 5 mins.

I can't seem to find the server you are referring to but Forge does indeed work with a "MOD" folder. If its not there, it means that you are not correctly loading forge. Maybe you're still loading Vanilla? Check the control panel to see if you have activated Forge.

Once Forge is correctly activated, you'll need to start your server at least once to see the mod folder generate. Upload the mods as ZIP/JAR into this folder and restart server to activate! Easy.

You can use the online FILE EXPLORER to upload your mods or FTP.

Types of Game Modes:

Description for game modes can be found HERE

  • survival  or "s" or "0"
  • creative or "c" or "1"
  • adventure or "a" or "2"
  • spectator or "sp" or "3"

Commands:
defaultgamemode <mode>  - Sets the game mode for all new players who join for the first time.
gamemode <mode> <player name (optional)> - changes the game mode for existing player or players. For more info, see: How to: Set game modes for players

Example:
Code: [Select]
defaultgamemode survival
gamemode creative
gamemode creative bob123

Typing the above in console sets the default game mode.
New players that join the world will be put into the default game mode; i.e., if the default game mode is creative, new players will start in creative

Notes: player must currently be online to apply the game mode on that player

Apologies to those who were not able to purchase a new server - please understand we don't like to overfill our servers due to our strict policy to keep server's performing at premium quality.

A new server box codenamed "Squish" is now installed ready to run more Minecraft server's for friends, families and communities!

A couple of UI updates have been made in our control panel to make your Minecraft experience a happier one! We hope you enjoy the new look.

Added a a few mod pack updates:

Tekkit - ULTRA MODDED updated to 1.4.2
Tekkit Classic Updated to 1.3.2

We have added older versions of CrackPack back into the control panel on request. However we recommend using the latest version as it fixes some performance bugs.

If you get an error to something similar below, it means that one of your JSON files which contain user data for ops, whitelist, bannedip, or bannedplayers contains an invalid character or syntax.
json files require particular formatting to work.

There are many ways to fix this. Most simplest is to just delete all the JSON files and let Minecraft convert your existing TXT files to JSON again.

Hate using numbers (IP Address and Port) to connect to your server?

With STIPE, you can use our free subdomain included with all packages. Examples of the domains we provide are below:
anything.connectminecraft.com
anything.linkmc.net
anything.mcmap.world

You can set the anything part to what you like.

How to set?: Just go to the control panel and click on settings. You will find the options to set your free subdomain from there.


Don't want to use the above domains we have? Want your own domain?

No problems! Follow the steps below:
1) First, you need to purchase a domain that's not already taken.
Example:
OurServerName.com

This costs about $10 to $15 a year and you'll need to purchase from a registrar company like Godaddy or Netregistry or CrazyDomains (Note we have no affiliation with any of these providers).

2) Once registered, link the domain to point to your server. For this you need a DNS Server and create some DNS records for the domain (A record and SRV record is required, see below for details)

Sounds complex? It doesn't need to be! STIPE support team can assist for no extra charge!

DNS servers can cost extra from your domain name provider and setting up the records can be a little tricky.
STIPE can provide FREE DNS servers and set up the records for you! (As long as you don't have any other services running on the domain like Website or Emails)

If you want STIPE to handle the DNS settings for you, just change the nameservers of your domain to the following:
Name Server: NS3.STIPESERVER.COM
Name Server: NS4.STIPESERVER.COM
(make sure you remove all other nameservers)

Now contact our support team and we will sort the rest out for you!


Want to use your own DNS Server?

If you have your own DNS server you would like to use, you will need to create the records yourself. See below for examples of what you need to do.

SRV RECORD:
Protocol & Name: _minecraft._tcp.{subdomain}
Priority: 0
Weight: 1
Port:  {Your server port}
Host: {Your server node name}.speakserver.com.

For example, if you want mc.OurServerName.com and your server port is: 25567 and node is MINT20
Then create SRV record as follows:
Protocol & Name: _minecraft._tcp.mc
Priority: 0
Weight: 1
Port:  25567
Host: mint20.speakserver.com.

Example 2: (For GoDaddy or similar interfaces)
Type = SRV
Service = _minecraft
Protocol = _tcp
Name = {subdomain}
Target = {Your server node name}.speakserver.com.
Priority: 0
Weight: 1
Port:  {Your server port}

NOTE: If you don't want a subdomain you can leave this field blank. Some DNS providers may not like it left just blank, please check with them with what to do. (Sometimes its a * instead)

Direwolf20 has been updated again to the latest version of 1.0.23
You can update this in the control panel (Make sure you click uninstall for your old direwolf installation before installing the latest)

We have also update some At Launcher mods such as CrackPack and Yoga

Direwolf20 has been updated to the latest version 1.0.21

Just head on over the to Addons and Plugins section and uninstall your old version and install the new one. (It won't delete your world don't worry)

A new feature has been added to our control panel for Minecraft lovers called Profile Management.

This feature will allow you to create and manage multiple installations of minecraft. So you can switch between a FeedtheBeast Mod or  Tekkit Mod with a click of a button! It switches the world, mods, and all settings perfectly.

Make as many profiles as you like!

An update for Counter Strike GO was released today which caused issues for servers using Source Mod and Warmod. The good news is the latest snapshot for SourceMod resolves this problem!

If you are experiencing crash issues or your server is not responding, try updating SourceMod using our control panel with 1 click or submit a support ticket and we will patch it for you.
