Minecarft 1.2.4 Update!!!!!

We have added the latest minecraft bukkit and Vanilla to our panel (apologies for the delay on this one)

To update,

1) Turn OFF your server (You need to do this!)
2) Go to [ADDONS]
3) Install "CraftBukkit Build 2117" OR Minecraft 1.2.4 [Vanilla]
4) Start server and have fun!

BETA IS OUT!! We have added CraftBukkit [1718] for Minecraft 1.1.0  to
the panel which supports the latest release of Minecraft 1.1.0.

To update,

1) Turn OFF your server (You need to do this!)
2) Go to [ADDONS]
3) Install "CraftBukkit Build 1718 For Minecraft 1.1.0"
4) Start server and have fun!

End of Stream Error means that your server isn't accepting communications. This generally occurs when your server has failed to start up due to an error.

Possible causes:

1)

Server is switched off - your server may actually be turned off. Please go to the control panel and click START to start your server.

Server definitely switched ON?
Check the RAM usage of your server. If it doesn't go beyond 150MB of RAM then check the following:

a) World or Config Corruption - This is the most common issue - to test, try changing your world name to something else and restart your server. If your server starts working again then you know your map is corrupted. Our specialised minecraft team can attempt to recover your corrupted map. Simply send a ticket and let us know the world name you would like to recover. The other issue can be a configuration file error, such as whitelist.json or ops.json. If the formatting of these files are not correct, your server will crash. You can check to see if this is the case by looking at the CONSOLE or server LOGS - the error should say "com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException". Try to correct the files or remove all contents in the files and restart server.

b) Faulty Plugin - If you have tested the above, try disabling all your plugins. To do this, turn OFF your server. Login to your server Files via FTP or FileExplorer. Find and Rename the PLUGINS folder to something else. (eg, plugins_disabled). Start your server and try connecting.

c) Still no good? Submit a ticket for further investigation. If the above fails and your RAM is still under 150MB, please submit a ticket so we can inspect it further.

RAM Usage greater than 150MB? This means your server is running and there could be another issue.
Please check your firewall settings. Can your friends connect to your server? If you are still having issues please submit a ticket for further investigation

We have removed it however, too many bugs

Since the amazing release of Minecraft 1.8, CraftBukkit has been down - there have been some updates which support minecraft 1.8 but is unstable at this time. We recommend not to install this plugin until we complete our tests on their latest patch.

If you would like to install it anyway, you can manualy copy it to your server via FTP and rename the craftbukkit's jar file to minecraft_server.jar.

We will put out a sample update later today. Hang in there!

MINECRAFT UPDATE

We have added CraftBukkit [996] to the panel which supports the latest release of Minecraft 1.7.3 and can help REDUCE memory use of your server! Please stop the server to install.

HOW TO INSTALL: (BACKUP - STOP - INSTALL - START!)
1) Log in the server and type /backup then STOP the server
2) Go to the Addons Section, install the Craftbukkit mod version 996
3) Start the server and have fun!

When will my server be ready?
We have automated the installation process! As soon as the payment is made, the system will choose the best box for you and create your server there. Most customers are up and going within 5 mins of purchase!

How much RAM do I need?
We recommend that all customers start with 1GB of RAM - for 5 to 10 player server.
There is no extact way of knowing how much RAM your server will use though. It all depends on the size of your map (how far people have explored), how much is built, and number of plugins installed.
As your map gets bigger and busier, the more ram you will need.

How will I know when I need more RAM?
The control panel tells you the amount of ram your server is using. Somtimes the guage will display that it's using all of the ram but nevertheless it will still have plenty of "GAPS" to fill in. The best time to know when your out of ram is when your server begins to respond slowly to actions and blocks and the RAM meter is beyond the limit (eg used up 1.2GB out of 1GB allocated)

How is the server hosted? (eg VPS or Dedicated Server?)
Your minecraft server is hosted on a shared Dedicated Server within a well monitored and contained environment - These servers are fully tweaked providing solid performance and stability 24hrs / 7days.

What comes with my server preinstalled?
We have the latest CraftBukkit Preinstalled on your server as well as plenty of other plugins that can be installed with our express installer. (You can also easily switch to vanilla in the ADDONs section of the control panel.) We also have the following default plugins preinstalled: General, Backup
NOTE: General plugin changes the default commands for the server - but they are in some way, much better and quicker. Please see the commands for General mod HERE

How can I cancel my server?
Just do nothing and your server will close when the next payment is due - you do not need to contact us - we will not run after you with a diamond sword demanding for money.
More information:
STIPE does not automatically charge your credit card. For each payment period you will need to manually pay for the server to resume. If you do not pay, it will automatically suspend. Your server files are kept intact for 30 days should you wish to return later.


Can I upload my own Minecraft_server.jar?
Yes! You have full FTP access to the server allowing you to install your own minecraft server files.

Isn't there a security issue for letting others run their own minecraft_server.jar?
STIPE always puts security first but also understands that customers need flexibility - For your peace of mind, each minecraft server runs under a well configured security sandbox. Preventing your minecraft_server.jar from being hijacked (even by other customers) or doing damage to the server.

All customers on the GIANT Box:
GIANT box is one of our oldest boxes that hasn't been upgraded for 12 months now. We decided to just replace the box completly with a new one instead of just upgrading parts.

Today we will move all servers on the GIANT box to the brand new server!

IP address and Ports will NOT change.
FTP Accounts will reset and you will need to RENEW them via the control panel

There may be a downtime of about 1 hour during this transition.
